The card encoder makes it possible for the user to encode his/her own
user cards. With this flexibility, an airport operator can purchase combination user cards
and identification badges. When a badge is issued, the computer database is updated and
the card encoded, thus, validating the user card in the access control system. At the same
time, a photograph can be laminated to his/her user card.
